Apr 2009 - Sept 2019Managed the Jet Retail and Leadership Academy within the Jet Chain (Edcon) overseeing the Corporate and Retail Operations areas. The Academy offered 7 interventions which included On-Boarding, Functional Training, Learnerships, Visual Training, Merchant Training and Leadership Training. I was instrumental within a 15-month period to formulate the framework, design, project manage and deliver all interventions within the Academy. I also built a 1 stop SharePoint learning site. The Academy empowered more than 75% of employees (6000) through various interventions. I was key in aligning the learning outputs to the organisation’s strategy.Work Description and Key Responsibilities My role extended to South Africa and Africa and included the following outputs:− Launched the Jet Retail and Leadership Academy and formulated and managed learning budgets.− Managed the L&D Reporting and governance for the Chain. − Managed all compliance (e.g. First Aid and Fire Fighting) and legislative training. − Administered, controlled and submitted training records for the Chain and ATR / WSP submissions to SETA.− Designed training material using the ADDIE model and 6D’s. − Facilitated training at junior and executive levels and designed and facilitated Leadership interventions.− Launched the very first Women in Leadership training.− Leveraged the relationship with external suppliers to customize the Leadership content for the Chain.− Supported and rolled out 360 assessments aligned to Leadership interventions.− Introduced Rewards and Recognition initiatives. − Conducted culture initiatives through online surveys and focus group sessions (included feedback to the stakeholders).− Forecasted business needs and provided solutions through stakeholder engagement (across the business).− Introduced an innovate APP which allowed employees to interact and rate each other enhancing culture and performance.− Project managed learnerships and internships for the Chain. Show less I was appointed as a Learning Consultant in Cape Town in 2010. In 2012, I was promoted to Specialist Learning Consultant. I have combined both roles as the outputs were similar.Work Description and Key Responsibilities − Facilitating Store Management functional training and facilitating SETA aligned programmes.− Project managing new store openings in reference to L&D requirements.− Managing the training and delivery for the Edcon Specialty Chain such as Edgars Active, Edgars Shoe Gallery, Cellular and Boardmans.− Formulating training frameworks and designing training material. − Facilitating core specialist training (including product) and conducting change management initiatives. Show less During this period, I worked as an Edcon IT Business Development Consultant, installing new POS systems across the country. The role ended in April 2010 due to project termination.I then moved into a Control Manager position where I was responsible for administrative and operational duties, which included managing the credit and point of sale departments. In ensuring that both departments were effectively managed, I had to ensure that the staff were well trained, customer experience was maintained, risk areas covered and the sales performance for the store grew.During 2003 to 2009, I held various roles unrelated to career path.
