      Role working as Physical Activity Development Officer to be responsible for the development and delivery of Sport, Physical Activity and Health & Wellbeing activities/agenda throughout Harborough District. I have been working in the sport/physical activity setting for many years and during this time I have delivered and managed a variety of programmes and projects both at population level and those targeting specific sub-populations and service users. I currently lead on a range of sport and physical activity intervention programmes that aim to engage inactive/sedentary population groups including those diagnosed or at risk of medical associated conditions that relate to modifiable lifestyle risk factors and/or unhealthy behaviours. For instance, I am responsible for delivering the Harborough District Exercise on Referral Scheme, Weight Management, Older Persons/Ageing Well Agenda, Cancer Pre/Rehabilitation, Cardiac Rehabilitation and other targeted health conditions. In addition, a range of lower level sport and physical activity participation focused programmes. I’m educated to a degree level in a sports related discipline; I have a sound knowledge of physical activity, public health systems with awareness of the national and local political policies and processes. I have a very good understanding of Local Authority, Public Health, NHS, PCN, Sports Governing Bodies and partner infrastructures. I rely on excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, budgetary and ICT skills which are essential along with excellent analytic and negotiating skills. Show less I have gained the required experience working as a Sport, Health & Wellbeing Manager for Harborough District Council and in this role managing, coordinating and delivering a wide range of targeted intervention sport and physical activity programmes. During my time in the Sport & Health Team I have been responsible for line managing staff, coordination of a wide range of programmes, and built effective long standing relationships with partners.I have developed a wide range of public sector management experience/s as I have progressed at Harborough District Council. This includes managing staff, services and contracts (including performance and quality), projects and programmes, budget monitoring and finance. Within this I have also gained valuable experience coordinating our annual commissioning plan, managing processes and bids to secure internal and external funding, plus managing relationships with key partners such as elected members, private providers and the NHS. I also take an active role in the governance of the team work plan and services, reporting and providing feedback to our service manager and corporate management team on a regular basis on key updates and achievements, current risks/issues and discussing the next steps for effective delivery. Role mainly focused on increasing the number of 11-25 year olds participating in sport regularly, with additional responsibility coordinating projects for older adults and universal initiatives.
