  My 1st job post graduation - and as generally expected, it was in SALES & MARKETING!I was responsible for sales generation of annual maintenance contracts of HP's computer accessories like printers, scanners, etc. Job involved making cold calls to generate new customers as well as maintain renewal contracts for existing customers.Major achievement in the role was that I helped develop a software program (in dBase IV) to maintain database of the customers and their assets. The proposal for AMCs was automated to print on pre-printed T&C paper which was a big step ahead of manually written proposal and looked very professional. Received recognition from Management Team for this effort.The job helped develop my understanding commercial terms, customer service, business communication.I valued the company and got to read the 'The HP Way' - book by David Packard which was truly inspirational and paved the way for my career .....   This was a permanent role in a new company handling FOREX TRADING setup by the Maini Group.My role was with a team supporting the back office operations in placing the trading orders with Hong Kong office for the commercial team. We worked in shifts as we catered to the global markets. Was promoted to CRO within 6 months to assist with regular updates to customer on their account status, trades, etc. Big learnings from the job was customer service & interaction, risky financial market trading and dealing wtih challenges of shift working.   Having interacted with them in a temp role, when they were expanding their Customer Support Operations, I was approached for permanent role of Admin Officer. Job responsibilities including taking care of end-to-end requirements for when customer comes into the service center for any repairs of their computer accessories, test & measurement instruments or medical support equipment. work involved working with a small team to log calls, co-ordinate with engineers on quotes/warranty repair, inventory management, raise quotes to customers, delivery of equipment across India, invoicing as needed & reporting. Work was intense with lots happening every day! I did a lot of process improvements and got recognized by Sr Mgmt. Was also involved in design & implementation of new systems developed for operations.The role taught me speed at work, multi-tasking, team management, customer service, commercial documentation, logistics, prioritizing tasks and the importance of collaboration with all stakeholders.Resigned from services to join my family in Dubai.
