  Marian Schaffer has a background in financial and retirement planning. She began her career as a financial consultant in the securities industry in 1986. Shortly thereafter, she became a VP of Investments at AG Edwards, now part of Wells Fargo Advisors. Marian worked with clients, helping them to achieve their financial goals of retirement planning, college saving, wealth building, succession planning and estate planning. In 1997, Marian 'retired’ to stay home full time with her two young sons, giving her clientele to her colleague and brother who continued to grow the business. He has been named every year since 2009 on the list of Barron’s Top 1000 Financial Consultants in the United States. Through personal endeavors in real estate in the Southeast, Marian quickly realized there was not a centralized consulting firm that guided and advised clients in an unbiased manner - who were looking to relocate to the Southeast region for retirement or purchase a second home. She formed The Schaffer Realty Group, now Southeast Discovery - and as a result, Marian Schaffer and her team have helped many simplify and streamline the search process - to successfully find the right area and property for them. Southeast Discovery can offer a low to a very high touch approach - depending on the client's needs. There is no direct fee for prospective real estate buyers. Southeast Discovery is paid a referral fee, always from the developer or selling side of the transaction. During her career, Marian went from Financial Consultant to VP of Investments as she managed upwards of $75 million on behalf of her clients. Marian's focus for her clients involved wealth building, retirement planning, college funding and estate planning.
