      Education Volunteer

'Stones and Bones Discovery Visit' sessions part time at the new visitor centre at the Stonehenge site. This involves helping 5-14 year olds on school trips engage with Stonehenge and its archaeological landscape, better understand the Neolithic way of life and hopefully make a lasting impact about the cultural importance of heritage.I was also involved in the reconstruction of several Neolithic roundhouses on site, and then similarly volunteered in a role engaging with the rest of the visitors as well as school trips, bringing the stories of Neolithic people to life and helping people understand their heritage. • Universidade de São Paulo

      Jul 2014 - Aug 2014
      Field Archaeologist

Exploratory excavation on the Fazenda Monte Alto, near the township of Dourado. Over the course of a month, the excavation established that there certainly had been some palaeo-indian activity in the area, although the dates are as yet unknown, awaiting results from the laboratory. Led by Prof. Astolfo Arouja of USP and Prof. Bruce Bradley of UoE, the excavation is of importance as even if the dating from the lab does not support some of the relevant theories, any information learnt is new, given that the archaeology of Sao Paulo State is currently relatively unknown. • RNLI

      Apr 2015 - Sept 2015
      Ambassador/Fundrasier

Working primarily alongside RNLI beach lifeguards on the beaches of Dorset, in order to both highlight safety information and raise awareness and funds for the UK's largest life saving charity. During the 10 weeks of the main campaign I was the third top fundraiser in the South Central area, hitting 139% of target. This equates to an estimated £33,525 for the RNLI over the next 5 years, from 151 new members recruited. I was also picked as part of an exclusive team to do the same job at the Southampton International Boat Show in September, where again we beat our targets.I hope to continue a relationship with the RNLI as a part-time fundraiser and safety ambassador, as the work they do on the sea is invaluable to not only the country but specifically to divers.
