Executed squadron-level and wing-level staff functions to include contingency planning, scheduling, training, standardization / evaluation, and operations management.   Largest geographic NATO base in Afghanistan. As the installation commander our 900-member organizational goal was to provide security and all mission essential support for 23 Combat and Support units composed of more than 5,000 coalition military members, 8,000 government civilians and contractors and 12,000 Afghan military members. Additionally, our organization was responsible for all regional community outreach activities in the Shindand District of Afghanistan. As the AEAG commander, our 100-member multi-national organizational goal was to train and advise the first-ever independent Afghan Air Force wing tasked with conducting pilot training and all base support functions for the 12,000 Afghan military members assigned.
