  At Masque, I worked under Lead Software Engineer Lorin Jurrow to streamline a method for converting their web-based slot machines from Flash into Haxe - prior to Flash's shutdown in 2020. I manually went through each step of the compilation process, in order to change each line of code to match the new programming language. With over 30 machines converted, I was able to assemble documentation encompassing all the changes that need to be made to a given machine. This documentation was then published to the internal company page, where other software engineers could reference it when it came time to mass convert all of their games. Show less

  Continuing the work done previously, I finished the conversion of the original set of games by exporting them into HTML5. This allowed for embedded browser support of all previous Flash slot machine games. After finishing this, I started to convert the older FDL machines into Starling, which brought them up to date so that they could be readded to Masque's catalog of games.I also conducted research into the use and implementation of distance-field and bitmap fonts and presented the results so the lead engineers could decide if it was a viable option for their new games.   Under Professor Dennis Akos, I worked to create a method of processing data from an IoT Location-as-a-service system and flag points of interest. U-blox were the type of Software Defined Radio that I worked with, and over the course of a summer, I analyzed the data received from GPS systems and established a baseline for nominal data. The eventual goal was to work towards creating an algorithm in MATLAB to read through large swaths of data - and flag the days of high-frequency interference for manual review. Show less
