      Team Leader of the Whole-of-the-Economy Climate Change Trust Fund for MENA & Poverty Country Economist for Syria & Algeria- Co-led the $1.2M Whole-of-the-Economy Climate Change Trust Fund for MENA. Led 2 teams and designed and conducted analytics for the POV GP that supported the analytical and operational work of 4 Global Practices.- Developed analytical tools to support Economists in integrating climate considerations in economic assessments (CCDR, ASAs, SCDs), including the creation of high-resolution regional maps of exposure and vulnerability to natural disasters by leveraging big data. - Supported several macroeconomic and distributional assessments as the poverty Country Economist for Syria and Algeria, including the special focus note of the Syria Economic Monitor. - Designed and led an innovative project exploring how to leverage remote sensing imagery and machine learning to nowcast poverty levels in the MASHREQ region despite the lack of data in conflict settings. Show less Contributed to the Cambodia Country Office operations and led economic and climate-related analyses for the Environment, Natural Resources, and Blue Economy (ENB) GP- Liaised with eight sectoral teams for the Cambodia Country Climate and Development Report, directly supporting some of them in defining and implementing their projects. Drafted some of the project documents (concept note, aide memoires) and parts of the CCDR report. Engaged with all relevant ministries, and presented findings to the meeting of Cambodia's Climate Change Technical Working Group with Development partners, chaired by H.E Dr. Tin Ponlonk, Secretary of State, MoE. - Coordinated and wrote ENB inputs to the first Cambodia Development Policy Financing (DPF) and the 2023 Cambodia Systematic Country Diagnostic Update. - Led a $4-million subcomponent of the Cambodia Sustainable Landscape and Ecotourism Investment Project Financing (IPF) on community-income generation. - Designed, coordinated, and contributed to four analyses assessing the severity and geographic distribution of climate exposure and impacts on poverty, health, and agriculture in Cambodia. Show less Supported the development of the environment and climate agenda of the Poverty and Equity GP’s Global Unit.- Designed and implemented an innovative analysis of the distributional impacts of air pollution in Tbilisi, Georgia, including air pollution and survey data collection, natural experiments, and an RCT. Developed a proposal, built an interdisciplinary cross-sectoral team, identified relevant government partners and data sources, analyzed data, and engaged the relevant stakeholders and clients. - Supported a multidisciplinary team (FCI, Center for Disaster Protection, POV) assessing vulnerability to poverty in the aftermath of droughts in Sub-Saharan Africa. - Wrote a corporate note explaining how to include climate projections in vulnerability analysis. - Contributed to the Global Unit’s front office work.
