  Summer Intern

  During this summer internship, I attended presentations given by all areas of the firm and external specialists, gaining a broad and in depth view of the different sectors within the company such as; research, trading, fund management, corporate finance and M&A. I then assisted the Corporate Finance team, sitting in on meetings with clients, checking and commenting on publications. I was assigned and completed a research project into the Private Placement markets.

  After completing the Graduate Programme I have joined the Non-Marine Retrocession team within Global ReSpecialty on a permanent basis For my third rotation I worked with the Non-Marine Retrocession team As one of the graduate trainees at Aon Benfield, I will complete three sixth month rotations around the firm, whilst also working towards my ACII. For my second rotation I am sitting within Aon Benfield Securities. Working with the Capital Markets team, I am gaining valuable insight into the market, primarily focussing on the structuring and issuance of Catastrophe Bonds, but also looking at Sidecars and capital raising. My first rotation was with the Aviation reinsurance team sitting within Global Re Specialty. I gained valuable experience into the consultancy, analytical and broker capacities of the team. My main focus was on the broking side, building strong relationships, and going out to market to service clients. I also helped provide in depth analysis for clients and undertook a project analysing the whole Aviation reinsurance market.
