During 4 major releases to transform and upgrade the digital capture of the agency’s application forms, I worked my way up from a Test Analyst, to Requirements Lead, to eventually managing the entire Analysis, Build + Test phase for a release worth £800k. • Discovery Networks

      Jul 2009 - Dec 2010
Digital Business Analyst / Operations Manager

After a promotion and the successful completion of the latest RPA release, I began work at Discovery Networks International. There, I took a managerial role line-managing a multi-disciplinary team of 7 developers, testers and designers. Together, we delivered a consistent, rolling schedule of improvements and adapted Agile releases to the company’s websites and custom-built CMS. As the only BA on the team, I had sole responsibility for providing high-quality and meticulously researched requirements, functional designs, wireframes and User Stories. I acted as the point person between the business and IT team, liaising and building relationships with senior stakeholders across the globe, and also receiving formal training in User Experience Design.Additionally, I designed, created and delivered a new suite of business intelligence reports on customer journeys, traffic analytics and digital revenue figures, which went on to inform strategic decisions made by the company’s executive team. • GroupM

      Jun 2011 - Jan 2012
      Senior Digital Business Analyst

Following a six month sabbatical during which I travelled throughout Asia and Australasia, I returned to Accenture and was immediately drafted in to salvage deteriorating relations between a contractor team and their agency stakeholders. After being formerly trained in Agile methodology and becoming certified as both a Product Owner and ScrumMaster, I worked with a range of (then disengaged) C-Suite stakeholders to embed the new working practices and gather requirements. Helping to lead a team of 26, including several junior BAs, we translated these requirements into User Stories, Epics and a Product Backlog for the external development team to create. Working in fortnightly Sprints with daily Stand-Ups, we made a string of improvements to the digital portal through which GroupM’s buyers and planners scheduled and bought ads, and systematically documented a previously unknown system. After a shaky start, momentum gathered and we implemented a series of fortnightly demonstrations where new shippable elements were shown to the client. Gradually, trust was restored, and I left the project with both teams working co-operatively and making excellent progress. Show less

    • New Look

      Jan 2012 - Oct 2012
Senior Digital Business Analyst / Project Manager

Throughout 2012, I acted as the Analysis & Design Lead for Accenture’s New Look engagement, line-managing a team of five BAs and a number of client and offshore resources to scope, analyse and deliver enhancements to the client’s eCommerce platform. These included mobile optimisation, checkout redesign and enhancement, cross-selling, SEO updates, social media integration, personalisation, single sign-on, searchandising and customer review integration. My role centred around acting as the chief liaison between the IT team and the business, and I and my team successfully delivered workshops, detailed specifications and requirements, test scripts and client training sessions.During the final two months, I also Project Managed the release (~£1m), having weekly meetings with senior stakeholders, creating RAID logs, mitigating issues, and looking after a team of 40 on- and off-shore resources. • Jimmy Choo

      Oct 2012 - Dec 2013
Lead Digital & eCommerce Business Analyst / Project Manager

Building on my experience with New Look, in 2012 I moved to an exciting new position at luxury fashion retailer Jimmy Choo. There, I became an intrinsic part of a very small team who transformed a collection of design sketches into 3 fully-functioning, responsive and beautifully designed international websites, on time and on budget. Arriving right at the beginning of the project, I set to work building relationships with senior stakeholders in the US, Asia and the UK and gathering requirements for the new digital solution. It was decided that the entire digital suite would be replatformed, and that design, development and testing would be outsourced to external partners. As the lead BA, I researched, created and distributed the RfP for the design agency and photographic studio we needed, and managed the selection process to successfully find the right suppliers. Once they were in place, I set about bridging the gap between our large team of developers, managers, testers, copywriters, merchandisers, photographers and designers based in New York, India, Bulgaria and the UK, implementing daily Stand-Ups and translating Waterfall requirements (preferred by the design and test agencies) into Agile User Stories (preferred by the development partner). Managing a team of 2 other BAs, I also had responsibility for the entire Test phase, including functional, integration, compatibility, end-to-end and UAT testing, and facilitated a large number of training sessions to help business users get up to speed with their new CMS. There were several periods where no Project Manager was available and, during those times, I was also responsible for managing the multi-£m project and liaising with executive stakeholders to report progress and mitigate issues. • Fortnum & Mason

      Dec 2013 - Mar 2014
Lead Digital & eCommerce Business Analyst

After the successful launch of Jimmy Choo’s new websites, I undertook an intensive piece of work for Fortnum & Mason, who were seeking to replatform and redesign their eCommerce and back-end systems. Working as part of a small consultant team, I facilitated workshops with a diverse range of business stakeholders, diving deep into the many intricacies of buying, supplying and selling luxury goods. Through these meetings, I elicited a complex set of requirements, functional specifications and User Stories, which went on to inform the selection process for Fortnum’s new eCommerce partner. Taking responsibility for managing the subsequent RfP process, I wrote the proposal document, reviewed responses, liaised with potential suppliers, facilitated sales meetings, and gave strategic input into the final selection decision. Apr 2014 - Jan 2017
      Branding Photographer
    • Kingfisher plc

      Jan 2017 - Jan 2019

For two very happy years, I worked for Kingfisher - the UK’s biggest home improvement retailer - in their Digital department. The first of these was spent working alongside a multi-disciplinary team to successfully deliver a new online platform and call centre application to Castorama France, one of Kingfisher’s European operating companies.Joining the project midway, I hit the ground running and quickly became the functional expert on several core areas of functionality. Liaising regularly with colleagues in Lille, Southampton, London, Kiev and Kolkata, I delivered workshops in France, analysed requirements and wrote User Stories, drove internal improvements to the Scrum process, and mentored junior BAs on the team. Rolling out a UK-focussed group template to the European market with an offshore development team required a wide-ranging skillset, including strong stakeholder engagement and management, international team liaison, a working knowledge of French, and an unflappable attitude. Despite challenging timeframes, the new site and application were launched successfully on time, and since deployment, the business has been enjoying significant sales growth and a drop in customer queries and returns.Following this project, I was promoted to a Lead BA position, and became responsible for recruiting and line-managing a team of 10 permanent and contract BAs, alongside producing my own delivery work and driving best practice and improvement within our wider community. My role included coaching / mentoring members of my team, delivering training and facilitating Team Days, performance management, internal and external recruitment, and representing the role of the BA to the senior leadership team. Simultaneously, I was also formally trained in SAFe methodology, and delivered BA work for the rollout of Kingfisher's mobile apps and desktop to Poland and additional European brands. Show less

      • Digital & eCommerce Business Analysis Manager

        Apr 2018 - Jan 2019
      • Digital Business Analyst

        Jan 2017 - Jan 2019
    • Toyota (GB) plc

      May 2019 - Sept 2020
      Senior eCommerce Business Analyst

I worked for Toyota/Lexus as the lead Business Analyst on the largest digital transformation programme the company has ever scoped. During the fifteen months I was there, I worked closely with a range of stakeholders from company Directors to showroom salespeople to determine the strategy, scope and requirements of a total reinvigoration of Toyota's digital experience. This work included a new eCommerce platform, Appointment Booking system, CRM, CMS, data strategy, showroom retailing and financial packages. I played a key role in planning, presenting and obtaining successful sign-off of a five-year delivery plan, after which I helped recruit a new delivery team, and mentored other BAs whilst delivering my own workstreams and workshops for eCommerce and Appointment Booking. As the covid-19 crisis hit, I was one of only three team members retained, and successfully delivered a rapid-turnaround project to rollout a Customer capacity management system to the retail network in just three weeks.
