    • Principles Ltd

      Feb 2007 - Mar 2009
      Sales Advisor

My role was very adaptable and I served the store based on the demand from customers from manning the shop floor and welcoming customers at the entrance with a friendly smile, serving customers and taking card, cash and gift voucher transactions and returns, maintaining a professional image by ensuring the clothes were neatly displayed and in correct size order, looking after the changing room facilities and providing professional advice to the customers and suggesting alternatives/ accessories to compliment their outfit and 'upsell'. I also managed the stock rotation in the store room, ensure it was neat and manageable as well as labelling the items of clothing with their correct tags and prices. Not only did I work in the Camberley store, but I also transferred to the Wokingham store during the holidays when I went home from boarding school. This provided insight into working with new people, enhancing the brand and dealing with new customers. Show less

      Jun 2012 - Jul 2012
      Local Leader

As a Local Leader I initially completed a TEFL course to be able to teach the international students English. The 3 week summer camp involved daily teaching, with prior lesson planning and organisation of books and tools for each lesson. I also managed a variety of activities throughout the three weeks which myself and my colleagues organised and prepared beforehand from Icebreaker games, Murder Mystery, scavenger hunts and a sports day. The students all had individual travel packages which involved day trips to various UK cities such as Bath, London, Oxford, Bournemouth and Salisbury. I accompanied the students on the transport and throughout the day providing tours and relevant information of the location and encouraged typically British cultural activities to ensure that they would get the most out of their trip. The role was 24/7 as I was a residential Local Leader meaning that Health and Safety regulations were of utmost importance and managing of safe fire drills and general safety issues throughout was imperative. My main roles involved: Assisting with student arrivals and departures.Delivering an initial welcome briefing to students.Ongoing promotion of activities and encouragement of student participation.Attending and running all activities for your group.Lesson planning and preparation before each class.Teaching classes every weekday following the EF methodology.Classroom management.Daily liaising with co-teacher to discuss progress & ongoing lessons.Monitoring daily attendance and keeping up to date records and paperwork.Attending all leader and teacher meetings.Ensuring the EF behaviour code is followed by students at all times and inform management immediately if there are any issues or problems.Dealing with problems and emergency situations should they arise.
