      I was trained as a crisis counselor and worked on an ambulance that responded code 2 or 3 to incidents involving overdose, suicide attempts, and persons having mental crisis of every type. As a counselor, or duties involved answering phone calls from SMI patients in crisis and would identify them in the system and work through their issues over the phone and arrange further intervention.

      EMS Captain/Controlled Substance Officer/NREMT Training Officer/ASHI Instructor/GFD Training Center Officer. Operated as the EMS Captain for the EMS Division just under 3 years. In that time I was involved in re-vamping out Controlled Substance Policy (tracking and documentation of daily checks and usage) and implementation of the locking drug boxes used on each unit to store the controlled substances. Conducted training of the members for NREMT Certification renewal and ongoing EMS training for the ALS and BLS members. Instrumental in the development of the ems training program and curriculum for several blocks of training. SME for the departments online training (Target Solutions). Developed the CE forms (coincides with the NREMT required training, for ease of correct categorization). Developed a STEMI card for referencing information in the field to better direct treatment on the emergency scene. Served as a member of the Chest Pain committees for accreditation at both Arrowhead and Thunderbird hospitals. Conducted STEMI drills to fulfill the requirements for accreditation. Responded to all hazardous material and technical rescue calls in the north part of the valley (mutual aid with all surrounding cities) as the special ops battalion.
