      - Lead the Education Digital Platforms and Data team. Embed strategic priorities and ways of working in the team’s work. Ensure programmes and projects are managed effectively and efficiently.- Manage the digital properties of the Education team. Research, evaluate and oversee improvements to their features and functionality in relation to customer needs.- Evaluate our capabilities to deliver value to customers through our education digital platforms and advise on programmes of development. Build and advise on justifications for resource and investment.- Plan and maintain a roadmap of development for our education digital platforms and services, creating justifications and business cases for resource and investment.- Oversee development and maintenance of analytics frameworks, solutions, and services to internal stakeholders. Enable strategic delivery and measurement through our digital capabilities.- Contribute to the development of our education strategy. Connect programmes and initiatives across the education team with value provided by our education digital platforms, products and services. This includes:• Developing and growing communities of engaged readers and contributors• Working with the managing editor to create an engagement strategy for Education in Chemistry, using an understanding of audience behaviour and content performance to deepen engagement• Contributing to the team as needed in writing, commissioning, editing, proofreading content for online and print publication. • Defining and overseeing processes, style guides and standards to ensure the quality and effectiveness of our digital content output• Implementing web analytics and profiling measures to understand and represent the interests of key user groups, and to measure the effectiveness and perceived value of our output • Advising colleagues from across education publishing on best practice and effective use of the broadest range of digital channels and tactics to help teams internally achieve their project aims and organisational priorities• Actively maintaining knowledge and understanding of developments in content creation and curation, direct marketing and social media, continuously reviewing good practice and online channels to identify and implement improvements to the effectiveness and efficiency of digital communications• Ensuring the capture and use of customer data and our use of digital communication channels and tactics are compliant with applicable legal and best practice standards, keeping knowledge and skills up to date with developments in the area• Evaluating the features and functionality of our magazine and journals platforms in relation to customer needs, researching, scoping, articulating and implement/oversee improvements Show less Responsibilities include:• Maintain and develop the social media presence for Education in Chemistry by planning and publishing social media content and engaging with the community to build relationships. Provide regular reports on social media activity and website analytics for the editor.• Plan, source, write and edit online news articles to cover a variety of topics relevant to the target audience.• Plan, commission and edit book and software reviews, ensuring there is a balanced coverage for the different readership groups.• Plan and edit content for ‘Feedback’, drawn from social media platforms, email and letters.• Edit shorter regular articles for Education in Chemistry and The Mole.• Copy edit and proof read all articles for Education in Chemistry and The Mole, print and web versions, to ensure the quality is of the standard required for publication.• Maintain and manage the Education in Chemistry and The Mole websites.
