I was entrusted with a high level of responsibility and I felt as being one in the crew. During the last week onboard the Master entrusted me to maneuver the vessel to the loading jetty. Great experience and an important reward.

The trust given by the Master resulted in that I got a lot of time in command of traffic planning and radio traffic, mooring and unmooring, and close work with the Senior Officers and the 2nd Officers performing cargo plans and ballast operations.

  Familiarization of the vessels DP - system, Kongsberg, which gave me a solid understanding of the instruments. I learnt and got trained in starting them up and how to use them, knowledge of use and the vocabulary of the anchor handling equipment. As on board the previous vessels I worked as a teammate with 2nd Officers performing miscellaneous navigation and safety work. This meant that I assumed a high level of responsibility and was tasked with my own duties, participated in anchor handling and supply operations including winch driving. On this onboard training period the Master entrusted me and gave me responsibility to have my own watch during a sea voyage. Show less

  Exercised the day-to-day work of a 2nd Officer with focus on navigation in dense traffic. On board M/S Nordlink I got the responsibility to handle the watch as it was my own. I was also given the opportunity to plan and perform different safety drills, work with the Chief Officer performing cargo plans and ballast operations and different management work.
