Our comprehensive trade missions included high-level meetings with the Panama Canal Authority, key government officials and industry leaders in Panama’s private sector.Brokered agreement with Ironman and the government of Panama, resulting in the Ironman 70.3 Panama Latin America Championship triathlon. The inaugural race in February 2012 generated more than 1,000 headlines in over 15 countries; continues to add millions of dollars to the local economy, and established Panama as a premier host for international events.Team leader of first-ever development review of the sportfishing industry of Panama, on behalf of the Government of Panama’s SENACYT, and in partnership with The Billfish Foundation. Effort included comprehensive socio-economic impact study of key stakeholders affected by recreational sport-fishing, emphasizing economic development and job creation, requiring relationship building and input of key stakeholders and industry leaders of Panama: Government officials and agencies, hotels, airlines, restaurants, retail, and maritime logistics and transportation sectors. Successfully led efforts to ban purse-seine fishing in Panama’s territorial waters - the first in Central America. As executive producer, led group of Hollywood producers, directors and financiers that secured a multi-million dollar partnership with the Government of Panama to develop the entertainment industry and generate economic growth in Panama. The investment resulted in the filming and production of feature films in Panama, including the movie Indigenous, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in March 2014. Show less
