      - Create a vision and direction that will guide the delivery of student academic and learning services with the full commitment from staff, coaches, and students. Ensure student-athlete academic progress, retention, and timely graduation. - Hire, lead, and evaluate 14 full-time academic staff, 50-60 part-time tutors, and part-time student assistants.- Prepare and monitor the annual operating budget.- Ensure student-athletes are provided with academic advising consistent with the requirements for NCAA academic eligibility requirements. Ensure that academic services (tutoring, study table, learning resources) are available for all student-athletes. - Work with each head coach to ensure that academic policies and goals are established for each team. - Serve as primary departmental liaison with campus units, including faculty, for various academic and student service functions. Attend and report regularly to the Advisory Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics (ACIA). - Track and identify improvement plans for Academic Progress Rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR) scores. - Execute study abroad, international service trips, and foreign tour academic components.- Facilitate faculty outreach programs annually. - Organize and track Finish Line Degree Completion program.- Develop and execute summer (LEAP) and mid-year academic programs for new admits. - Oversee academic services staff involvement and recruiting presentations for all sports. Assure that the academic advisors keep abreast of all University undergraduate programs and support services as well as cultivate and develop relationships with University staff and faculty. Show less • Originated and oversee the Purple Passport Program and its annual budget. • Worked collaboratively with campus departments such as the Study Abroad office, Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity, Department of Anthropology, and Department of Classics to create study abroad opportunities for student-athletes. • Organized study abroad programs to French Polynesia, Rome, and Hawaii and a service trip to Costa Rica.• Supervised two of the three groups to French Polynesia and the pilot program to Hawaii.• Managed and reconciled the budgets of all programs. • Since 2012 the Purple Passport Program has sent 78 student-athletes abroad across 19 different sports. • Partnered with outside vendors, Courts for Kids and Sports Camps of America, to create service trips and internship opportunities. • Sought funding from donors in conjunction with the Intercollegiate Athletics Development Department for donations to be a self-sustainable program. Raised $350,000 and started an endowment fund.
