Special challenges include transition of 911 medical services, administering a mayoral recall election and election recount, implementing employee layoffs and furloughs as result of revenue shortfalls, the settlement of four lawsuits involving the Town and the deannexation of a large failed planned development. Led PW team in pursuit of new solid waste business strategies and opportunities as drafted in Plan. Restructured Landfill tipping fees for sustainability of enterprise fund. Completed Facilities Master Plan for all County Building Assets. Implemented new facilities maintenance, web-based, user-friendly software to produce work orders, track maintenance activities and reduce costs. Supported Public Works staff to implement energy improvements in several facilities including solar array installation at the county fairgrounds. Facilitated the participation of sheriff’s office, several municipalities and fire districts across the county to draft a multi-jurisdictional disaster mitigation plan. Adjusted regular summer maintenance schedule to prioritize the emergency repair of flood damaged roads in 2011. Attend weekly safety meetings to reinforce relationships with production staff.
