  Maureen Harris is the Founder and CEO of the international music education business Montessori Mozarts Inc. which has touched the lives of thousands of children and families. As CEO Maureen was directly responsible for the growth, mentoring, education and academic accountability for both the students and teachers under her guidance. This business was honoured as finalist in the Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur category.   Lakeview Montessori School

  Prof. Harris was appointed Head of School for Lakeview in October 2012. Lakeview is a private elementary school located in Tecumseh that educates 200 students from preschool to Grade 8. During Maureen's tenure the school has significantly increased enrolment, has set the foundations to support a future culture of philanthropy, and is the recipient of expansion funding. The new build will double Lakeview's footprint to include a gymnasium, additional classrooms, and an innovative centre for the arts.Maureen has experienced direct responsibility for key school sectors including the Admissions office, Human Resources, Student Services, Information Technology services, Health and Safety, Facilities Management, Fund raising and all academic issues. In addition, Maureen was successful in bringing the local school to global status through innovative technology, and international teacher training. She was instrumental in bringing the Arrowsmith program (based on the new neuroplasticity belief the brain is not static and continues to grow and can be altered) which has placed Lakeview as the only school in Southwestern Ontario to support differentiated learning for all students.Furthermore, Maureen has raised the bar for this local school which was recently awarded two national accreditations from the Canadian Association for Independent Schools (CAIS) and the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (CCMA). Students in Essex county now have the opportunity to experience personalized education of the highest standards. Show less
