  Foreign Language Assistant

  I was an English language assistant in a German secondary school. I was involved in classes for pupils aged 10-19, and worked in tandem with various staff, including teachers, admin and inclusion officers. Key roles included: -'team teaching': collaboration with English department staff - independent planning and delivery of lessons on a range of topics - grammar, literature, politics, pronunciation and more-presented complex concepts in a simple, digestible manner to classes of up to 29-fostering a positive, encouraging learning environment for pupils-Comprehended pupils’ individual needs and adapted the delivery of lessons as needed, both spontaneously and following post-lesson evaluations I also supported various extra-curricular lessons and activities such as theatre trips, the Italien exchange week, martial arts for girls and 'British comdy week'.   Online internship for an app which illuminates Berlin's history. My main role was to translate copy from German into English. Other key responsibilities:-editing translations with attention to detail, ensuring the delivery of key messages-uploading texts to the website using CMS (Datenbank) -coordination and delegation of workload with other interns-communication with external stakeholders to prioritise workflow -meeting key deadlines

  I was part of the social media team for a German charity which provides education and healthcare to orphans in Tansania. My roles included:-using the Instagram Stories feature to increase interaction on the page -writing and proof-reading German captions; translation into English -community interaction in German and English: accounts reached + 75%, content interaction + 56%, collowers + 15% during March -selecting images and videos for Instagram posts from the media database-weekly virtual meetings with the social media team to plan future posts, create a fundraising strategy and discuss feedback Show less
