      Feb 2009 - Jan 2010
      Assistant project co-ordinator

this volunteering opportunity was presented to me while I was at university taking a 'History in the Workplace' module. in fact if it was not for this role I would not be where I am today! I worked with Melissa Crane, the project co-ordinatior, and we interviewed members of the BME communities to deliver culturally focused exhibitions within Nottingham Castle. We focused on trying to reach the 'deprived' areas in Nottingham, particularly young people. our exhibitions were well received, however there is still much work to do towards involving a more multi-cultural perspective in British History, which remains mostly euro-centric.
