      Serving as the Acting Captain for the Department during absence of Line Operations and Support Captains for a population of 60,000 residents, I supervised initial stages of hiring process, including oral examinations and background investigations for police force consisting of 72 sworn officers and 46 civilian personnel. In this role, I administered the budget for Professional Standards Bureau, Training Bureau, Jail, Technical Services and Communications, and Computer Services, in addition to coordinating Internal Affairs Investigations. Highlights of my experience in this role include…• Developed and implemented departmental policies and procedures. Oversaw staff, finances, equipment purchasing, contracts, and daily activities of Jail and Training Bureau. Managed Technical Services Division, including Radio Communications, Mobile Technology, and Special Equipment needs. • Selected by Chief of Police to lead $500K remodeling of Communications Center; identified needs and facilitated purchase and installation of new radios, workstations, computers, and other equipment, interfaced with and scheduled activities of outside vendors, and developed dispatcher training. Completed project within six months.• Directed $1.8M Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management system redesign as overall project manager. In this role, I served as Acting Bureau Supervisor in absence of Detective Sergeant, Acting Jail Supervisor in absence of Jail Manager, Training Officer for newly appointed detectives, and Administration and Investigations Fleet Manager.Highlights of my experience in this role include…• Executed and administered Department’s In-Car Camera Program; wrote policy and procedures to ensure integrity of tapes, developed cataloging system, and managed court testimony related to tape use.
