  The position's responsibilities are overseeing various critical tasks of MBTS related to blood processing and distribution. The work is essential in ensuring the adequacy, safety and quality of blood and its products used for treatment in hospitals. Primarily, the core responsibility is running day to day tasks of the department. Other duties include being accountable for staff training and development, monthly data management, and reporting and record keeping. As a technician, the tasks included equipment maintenance and calibration and inventory management, safety and bio-hazard protocols and compliance and quality control and assurance. Students from various colleges and universities attached to the Laboratory Department for practical allocations were also under the direct supervision and mentorship of the position.

  Reporting to the Project Managers and working closely with Program Managers, I am involved in conducting research studies/surveys as a way of building evidence and understanding the impact of their work. My duties and responsibilities include: data collection using household questionnaires using KoboCollect mobile application or similar data collection tools, data collection using Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and other Participatory Rural Assessment (PRA) tools, conduct sensitisation and mobilisation of survey participants, preparation and submission of field reports to supervisors, prepare tools for data entry in the appropriate software, conduct data verification focusing on completeness and accuracy from the data collection tools/ forms, perform preliminary data cleaning by flagging outliers to the supervisor, and transcribe data from the FGD notes and interview recordings. I will contribute to sustainable healthcare solutions that bridge the gap between data science, public health, and climate resilience through data-driven insights, visualizations, and policy recommendations.
