    • United States Air Force

      Jul 2009 - now

Conducting research on lightning prediction with AI/ML. Researching how AI can be used to quantify cloud electrification. Developing Air Force Weather's AI Strategy to enable direct integration into future Joint All Domain Command and Control Systems. Advocated for the Department of the Air Force's weather satellite (Space Based Environmental Monitoring) programs by communicating the DoD's requirements to senior leaders, while examining commercial solutions from industry to meet DoD needs. Developed readiness metrics for senior leaders to inform transformation efforts needed to meet National Defense Strategy requirements. Completed a M.S. in Atmospheric Science, with a thesis focusing on strong downslope winds in Northern California. My thesis research was published in the Weather, Analysis, and Forecasting journal. Led a team of 30 software developers for geoscience applications for Air Force Weather users, with Agile/Scrum. These applications spanned topics ranging from space weather models to technical training material. Received a M.S. in Space Physics, researching ionospheric plasma bubble observations on space weather modeling systems. Assisted Group Commander in administrative tasks to include promotion and performance reports, awards, and operational tasks. Oversaw forecasting operations for hundreds of DoD locations in the western United States. Operations included hand drawn observed and forecast analyses, terminal aerodrome forecasts, watches and warnings, and pilot to metro service for transient aircrews.
