When working in practice, I focus my efforts on: → carrying out examination of patient's eyes to diagnose vision problems, signs of injury, disease, abnormality or vision defects and effectively communicate with patients to obtain detailed case histories;→ checking for signs and symptoms of general health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure and refer patients to other health practitioners as needed; → administer drugs to patients to aid in the diagnosis of vision problems and prescribe certain drugs to treat some eye conditions; → offering advice and reassurance about vision-related matters; → complying with regulation from governing bodies; → liaising with other medical practitioners and sometimes share the care of patients with chronic ophthalmic conditions; → managing and prescribe medicines for people with eye conditions.   I've been working in the communities we serve to ensure that we provide a high-quality eye examination and provide the right solution for our patients' optical needs. I focus my efforts in ensuring the clinical practice across all our branches is constantly evolving. My main focus is to look at the latest technology and clinical research and ensure that we are implementing the latest in optical field so that our patients receive the best optical care. Building the right team of experts is at the forefront of this. I spend time looking at the needs of the community and the company and work to ensure the team is functioning optimally. I lead partnership meetings to ensure we are kept abreast of any changes and improvements that can be made in our stores and across the company as a whole. Show less
