      Staff Scientist

I was initially brought on as a Laboratory Technician responsible for setting up, analyzing, and processing reactions to obtain products of analytical purity. Within 2 years I had been promoted twice to Research Associate I and my duties were to plan synthesis, trouble shoot reactions, analyze biological data from compounds that were tested and suggest new analogs to fix the shortcomings of the previous iteration, when possible. Over the next five years I consistently achieved goals and my continuing commitment to expanding the depth and breadth of my skill and knowledge resulted in a number of promotions to my previous position from Research Associate III. As an Associate Scientist, I was expected to optimize small molecule drug leads into candidates by iterative improvement of activity and ADMET properties via independent research and synthesis. A few years of consistent accomplishment and initiative have warranted another promotion to Staff Scientist, where I plan to show that I can manage others and solve project level problems effectively, while also inventing the best possible small molecule therapeutics with what is in my opinion nothing less than the most efficient and creative drug discovery team in existence. I love what I do and I consider myself lucky to have a chance to do it. I am a contributing member of my research teams in terms of both intellectual property and process while also remaining engaged in the bigger picture strategy, making suggestions related to larger scope project direction.
