As Project Director of Panther Rocket Lab, I lead a multi-disciplinary team of over 80 students on a space shot project with the goal of reaching the Kármán Line. My responsibilities encompass managing seven key subsystems—Avionics, Propulsion, Ground Systems, Launch Operations, Recovery, Structures, and Payload—ensuring seamless integration for mission success. Additionally, I am responsible for project planning, technical development, fundraising efforts, launch site acquisition, and the acquisition of proper licensing for launch and other various operations. My role fosters collaboration across engineering, operations, legal, and financial efforts, all aimed at our goal of reaching reaching the Kármán line. Show less As the leader of the Propulsion and Simulation subsystem of the AIAA Florida Tech Panther Rocket Lab, I worked in coordination with all other subsystems to record the weights, dimensions, material, and function of their subsystem to create an accurate simulation utilizing Open-Rocket software. I was responsible for utilizing our simulation data to select a motor that will launch our rocket to our target apogee. I was responsible for the precise and safe assembly of rocket motor casings and solid propellant grains, as well as proper integration in to launch vehicle. I also oversaw the installation of the igniter in the motor as the rocket was vertical awaiting launch. Show less
