      The Dallas Horseshoe Project was a $798 million design-build roadway construction project by TxDOT to improve traffic flow through Downtown Dallas. Construction for the design-build project was managed by Pegasus Link Constructors (PLC) which comprises of Fluor Enterprises Inc. and Balfour Beatty Infrastructure. I worked along side the Field Engineers with their day-to-day tasks as well as the Project Controls team. This was my first introduction to the construction industry and I was able to learn a lot from my coworkers. My tasks included filing insurance claims, managing the Fuel Database, conducting mileage take-offs, calculations for bridge demolition, taking temperature sensor readings of mass placements of concrete, and redlining plan sheets. My tasks included redlining plan sheets, preparing and submitting documents to the design-firm, preparing and supervising completion of punch list items, and initial preparation for the next design-build project PLC was awarded.       Lowest Stemmons is a 2.3 mile project on I-35E from I-30 to north of Oak Lawn Avenue. The goal of the Lowest Stemmons project is to provide operational improvements to the I-35E corridor. Construction for the hard bid project was completed by Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Inc.I assisted the Project Engineer with day-to-day tasks including verifying timesheets, tracking equipment hours, tracking material quantities, preparing end of month cost-reports and updating three-week schedules.

      As a Development Intern, I assist with the Quality Assurance process required for the acceptance of the newly constructed Aspire at Discovery Park apartments on Purdue University's campus. My duties include assisting with logistics of delivery and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment, perform functional tests of appliances, fixtures and other devices in each apartment unit, ensure quality assurance inspection schedule coordination for unit inspections and furnishings and record results and tracking any defects until corrections are confirmed as complete and acceptable.
