During my time at CMACS I researched benthic habitat degradation in relation to specific fishing practices. Once complete the document was then made available to be used in tender processes for the consultancy, advertising their expertise to potential clients.

    • Thames Water

      Sept 2015 - Nov 2016

Working with housing and infrastructure developers to organise a front end planning process to enable the cohesive growth of Thames Water networks alongside new development. Ensuring that communication between Thames Water and local councils within the Greater London and Thames Valley region increases. Developing working relationships to create a transparent development framework to allow for the reduction in Grampian Planning Conditions. Using local/ regional plans to identify development hotspots within the Thames Water region in order to undertake enabling works at the early stages of developer planning applications and reduce delays in construction of new housing/ infrastructure. Show less - Engaging with various areas of the business to ensure that a permit to work planning system can be used across the network effectively- Investigating the effective management of infrastructure at a major sewage treatment works to ensure reduced public opposition to the continued use of the plant.• Permit requirements – Thames Tideway Tunnel Infrastructure Project Ongoing development of the Thames Tideway Tunnel, London. Largest NSIP of its kind created to reduce the deficit capacity of the current sewage systems within the London catchment area. Contributed to the permitting system to allow for operational teams to begin facilitation works for the infrastructure development. Working within a tight geographical and chronological scale presented challenges to create a flexible but robust permitting system• Odour Control – Mogden Sewage Treatment works Mogden STW is a delicate area as far as planning and customer engagement is concerned. Located close to Twickenham stadium and heavy residential accommodation odour control is a hugely divisive subject. I contributed to the ongoing discussions with residents in regards to planning infrastructure to reduce odour impact upon the local community. Provided research collected from various Thames Water STW to offer advice on further preventative measures to be put in place at Mogden STW• Operational Planning – Mogden Sewage Treatment WorksConsidered the relationship between planning the operational aspects of regular network maintenance and reactionary maintenance to understand whether a smoother process could be implemented to allow for the infrastructure to be used more efficiently Show less
