My Group Leader, Mike Beadle, said the following:“Hugh is one of the most dedicated members of Baden Powell Park Scout Group. Hugh's work for our Scout Troop, Venturer Unit, and Rover Crew has been invaluable. As Operations Manager for the Australian Contingent to NZ Venture in 2019, Hugh was responsible for the booking and management of ground and air transport for over 570 Australians across the 3 week event. Hugh also managed other highly complex logistical on operational matters for the Contingent with great finesse. In his role as Camp Chief of the Annual Victorian ‘Anything Goes’ Event, Hugh has engaged with his peers from around the State. His manner, approachable and competent in equal measure, encourages and inspires others to join his team. This has made each successive AG, now Australia’s largest Venturer event, more successful than the last.If all that wasn’t enough, this year Hugh has been appointed Director of Administration Services for the 2022 Australian Jamboree. This role involves Hugh overseeing the entire Admin, Finance, and International portfolios – a huge undertaking.Hugh is currently studying Law at Australian Catholic University, and in 2018 sought and gained an internship with Julian Burnside AO QC. Hugh continues to work with Julian supporting him in his pro Bono work.” Show less
