I am responsible for leading a team of 6 Technical Superintendents delivering the Contract for Availability for 8 ships in this section (B2OPVs, SVHOs and IPS). This involves cradle to grave management of maintenance periods, defect rectification, technical requirement management; including design appraisal & approval for enhancements/modifications and management of Class certification (NAG, DNV and Lloyds Register). I am delegated to manage the funding lines for the platforms, totalling up to £70million per year, ensuring the forecasting and accruals are completed on time. I am responsible for the approval of the Job Concessions on the Maintenance Management System for the platforms. I am also the lead for providing assurance to the Platform Authority on the Safe to Operate statement for each of the vessels. The existing support contract has proven to be unsustainable and ineffective at providing Navy Command the availability required of the platforms. Through creating closer links between industry and NSS I have led on creating a more collaborative working environment and utilising my funding lines to supplement the contract in key areas that deliver the greatest improvement with regards to availability. I am the engineering lead on managing the renegotiated contract requirements, via the creation of new Key Performance Indicators. Key Achievements:Improved ways of working resulting in improved platform availability to 95% across my section (2022/23) from 75% in 2020/21.Produced new set of KPIs for renegotiated contract, total contract value £60million.Improved timely completion of maintenance periods by providing greater work scope detail and management of the enterprise stakeholders.
