  To enable the 3D CMOS sensor, the first of its kind, to count the number of objects passing through it. This was done for the existing sensor designed for a different purpose. It was required to develop software for the 3D CMOS sensor using VC++ at the system level which would enable counting. This being a security application, evaluation of the software was the major part. It has been successfully tested for various scenes. Developing test programs in Matlab to evaluate the performance of the 3D CMOS sensors and the hardware used in conjunction to it.Performing destructive and non destructive tests on the sensors for different parameter sets.Evaluating the performance of the sensor for various static and dynamic scenes, documenting the results to be sent to the partners.
