In 2017 I enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard. That June I attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. During the deployment, I was promoted from the rank of Specialist to Sergeant. While working in the Brigade Operation Center, I simultaneously managed air traffic across 8 defended locations in 2 countries as well as tracked part movement for air defense weapon systems and radars across the theater. Director of community relations and youth initiatives

Worked as Director of Community Relations and Youth Initiatives.I was tasked with creating a fun initiative for the kids in the Athens community and the surrounding area. My team and I began work on developing a plan to host four hitting and pitching clinics in local communities. Throughout the experience, I learned valuable event management skills including coordinating with volunteers, purchasing equipment within our designated budget, and working with the presenting sponsor to create a positive relationship throughout the duration of the clinics. We were able to hold all four clinics for over 300 kids FREE OF CHARGE, as well as maintain and strengthen our relationship with our presenting sponsor Ohio Health. As a side project, I took on the role of representing the Copperheads as a head baseball coach in the Albany Youth Baseball League. My team finished the regular season with a 1-9 record but persevered in the post-season tournament to finish in 3rd place. Show less

      May 2022 - Aug 2022
      Play-by-play commentator

Worked as a Play by Play and Color Commentator for the 2022 Southern Ohio Copperheads seasonDuring the 2022 Copperheads season, I broadcast and produced 36 games for the YouTube channel. I was not only responsible for providing play by play for the games, but also engineered and produced the stream. Juggling dual responsibilities taught me time management and problem-solving skills. Each stream needed to be built prior to the game to reflect the teams and players, as well as the sponsors for each game. I learned to balance this task with the broadcast preparations and other pre-game duties. I traveled with the team for all away games and was able to experience all the unique aspects of summer baseball across Ohio and Indiana. The broadcasts were crucial in elevating awareness of the team, who had taken a 2-year hiatus due to COVID-19. By the end of the season, the broadcasts were 8 of the 10 most viewed videos in the history of the team’s YouTube channel. I also had the opportunity to assist the Director of social media with creating graphics for the All-Stars. This gave me an opportunity to sharpen my skills with Adobe Photoshop and show them off across our social media platform. Near the end of the summer, I was offered an opportunity to work as a game day staffer and writer at the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All Star Game. I assisted with distributing jerseys and equipment, interviewing players for the league website and connecting with other interns across the league. Show less
