  Summer intern

  In this short time internship, I got exposed to the day-to-day oil and gas processes and grasped the key and main aspects when working in the oil industry. Also, as part of this internship, I examined different production facilities such as Central Compression Unit(CCU) and Central Production Unit (CPU). Observations on the general key points that a petroleum engineer, operators, must achieve when operating such facilities were comprehended.

  During this time of my stay in Block 10 Khareer in Yemen, which is being operated by Total E&P Yemen, I observed and learned the different tools and operations used in drilling both vertical and horizontal wells. Different wells were visited during different stages of their development such as completion, drilling and servicing. By the end of this summer internship I gained a variety of knowledges about key details in drilling.

  • Perform development studies for Block 10- Yemen to optimise production processes under fluctuating oil prices. • Conduct internally performed studies in liaison with the relevant entities (GSR, Drilling, Construction, HSE, and Economics)• Define (SoW, budget, schedule) and supervise externally performed studies.• participate in Block 10- Yemen corporate planning.• Maintain and update block-10 Corporate Planning (18 months look- ahead) in coordination with the relevant entities.• Organise and coordinate the corporate planning meeting as required.• Lead the production budget exercise (PDC/IB) in liaison with the relevant entities.• Provide technical-economical input to the Long Term Planning (LTP) and budget processes.
