      Nov 2006 - Aug 2010
Applications specialist / nem operations manager

My role as Applications Specialist was predominantly working within the NEM and corporate environments for Hydro Tasmania and Aurora Energy. During 2007 and 2008, I acted for extended periods (up to 5 months) in the Applications Team Leader role. My responsibilities included resourcing and managing up to 11 staff across three client accounts, financial reporting on a weekly and monthly basis, while still fulfilling my technical support role on several significant projects. Throughout 2009 I also performed an acting NEM Operations Manager role. In this position as manager of the National Electricity Market for Aurora Energy, Hydro Tasmania, Roaring 40s, Tamar Valley Power, and Momentum Energy, I maintained the day to day operations of IT NEM infrastructure, network components and application systems. As the NEM is a 24x7 mission critical operation for Tasmania’s power generation, trading and settlements, the Operations Manager role involved adherence to and management of strict Change Management, DR and Business Continuity planning as well as day to day incident and problem management using an ITIL implementation. Concentrating on several large projects that I have previously been involved at a technical level, my extensive knowledge of our key client accounts, the customers and vendors that we engage with, and a background of the project proposals has enabled me to progress these through to completion successfully.Highlights of my portfolio during this time include: PC Fleet Replacement Program for a major Tasmanian E&U Company (2013), XenApp 6.5 Upgrade for a Major Tasmanian E&U Company (2012), Wind farm IT Systems Build for Roaring 40s (2012), MS Exchange 2010 Solution for a Tasmanian Government Division (2012), and an IT Service Provider Transition project for Aurora Energy (2012).
