  As Laboratory Manager I had one group (size varied from 8 to 15) to supervise. Managerial tasks included everything betweenhiring and firing people. My group took care of about 5000m2 of cellular network laboratory space including electricity, air ventilation, LAN network etc. There were approximately 300 R&D cellular network elements to take care of in those laboratories and my team handled purchasing, installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing HW & SW tasks for R&D elements.I also had a key role in our laboratory investment planning and ordering process. I have experience in partnering and subcontractingbecause we outsourced some of our laboratory services and Iwas planning and ramping up that action.As laboratory manager I had responsibility to act as project manager for varied projects, varying from workstation migration and IP network harmonization to asset inventory. Because of tight schedules in R&D I have gained a lot of experience working under pressure and big work load. That also taught me to prioritize tasks, which have been very useful in everyday life.I did my bachelor thesis about automating the SW build installation even before SW test automation was not that common.I also had one laboratory on my responsibility and it was my duty to keep eye on infrastructure on that area. I had to keep on track what particular parts would be needed in laboratory and if some of them was getting old and obsolete, I had to find new suitable one for that purpose.   Founded a new organisation around my old SW testing department and took Tampere under the umbrealla. From the beginning of year 2020 expanded the service to cover web, cloud and mobile testing as addition to embedded SW which is still the biggest area.Organisation has three main focus areas: SW Testing, Cyber Security and People. First two areas are the ones that directly bring in the money, but the third one is the one that keeps our business ongoing, so we need to nurture it!2021 update: Rersponsibility widened to Poland and Sweden, where DevOps & QA services will be grounded during 2021. Show less As a team manager my duties has included daily line management tasks. Recruiting has played very important role because in four years team has been established from scratch to size of +30 persons. In industrial engineering business personnel competence is very essential so competence development has vital role. This also links to selling because it is important to get information from customer what are the personnel attributes and competences in future projects.As a manager in Etteplan budgeting and budget follow up have played big role. Also following budget KPIs is very essential in my role. Beside team management I have also done lot of selling for present and new customers. Especially different size of measurement systems have played a big role.In test engineering team we have done lot of project work. As one of my most important achieves is taking agile process (Scrum) to old fashioned engineering business. Project management has been one of my most important duties. In test engineering our projects has been very challenging due to very tight schedules, tight budgets and variation of test systems. Also in test system engineering there is no possibility to make many proto rounds, 1st version must work.
