  The WV Northern Brownfields Assistance Center was created to empower communities to plan and implement brownfields redevelopment projects.While at the NBAC I developed and implemented the BAD (Brownfields, Abandoned, Dilapidated) Buildings Program which provides the training, roadmap, and toolkit to help rural communities create or improve abandoned/dilapidated buildings initiatives. The BAD Buildings Model is designed to train a group of local stakeholders to survey and build an inventory of problem properties as well as prioritize it in order to address the most critical properties.In addition to managing the BAD Buildings Program I worked with communities to redevelop target brownfield sites through addressing site control/ownership, developing reuse plans, and securing cleanup and revitalization funding.I also oversaw the FOCUS Grant Program, which provides $5,000 start-up grant funding to communities and local governments seeking to engage in new brownfield redevelopment projects.
