  I was a secondee from IMRE for a year at MTI. Together with a few others from the other MTI Agencies including Spring, IES, JTC, STB and an MTI staff, we ventures into Cross-Agnecy Projects. Supervised by the DCEO of Spring, IES and EDB, we undertook projects on Talent Management, Design for Industry & High-Net-Worth Individuals.An eye-opener for me in working at the ministry level. Wonderful and supportive colleagues (enjoyed the time much) on thoroughly exciting projects - projects that gives us flexibility of the approach. The focus was on the outcomes. How refreshing. Dialogues with colleagues in the various agencies gave me better understanding and appreciation of the on-goings of the various agencies and their challenges. The secondment was fruitful for me.   OTI is my first step into the private sector after spending about 20 years in the public sector. OTI was a consulting and training firm, focused on OD and Service Excellence. As a Principal Consultant, I was also responsible for Regional Partner and Partner Program management. DiSC and related program business. OTI Partners was formed in 2008 to give emphasis to the distributable programmes and products with a different business model. During the 2 years, I focused on growing the business and strengthening the programme partnerships. As expected, some were successful and some were not. A learning experience nonetheless as a leader and as a person. It is not the just the concept and opportunity, it is more the people behind that makes or break.2009-2010 was an emotional year for me. It meant the end of OTi. It also meant a new beginning with Capelle Consulting, with the synergistic merger and complementarity of 2 firms offering strengthened capabilities and capacities for L&OD solutions.   Being in Academia and Technology Development, I soon appreciate that the Human Factor still remains a critical element in the success of any endeavour. Over the last 15 years, I began to focus on people and especially leadership development - beyond just competencies. I believe in leading authentically so that we make a difference to people and the organisation because we are a better leader. I employ a data-driven intervention approach to help leaders know where they are and how they compare with their peers. This in turn gives them a bearing for their own leadership journey of development.I endeavour to equip leaders and individuals so that they are able to navigate the course for their own development and apply the learnings appropriately. I do a 1-1 coaching when individuals require the dedicated attention.I started Starting Point in 2014 because I wanted to help individual and leaders make a difference to themselves, the people they lead and to the organisation.
