      During my time here I assisted a graduate student in research involving the interactions between Calcineurin and Calmodulin proteins. I became proficient in protein purification techniques and experimentation. I also spent considerable time on a project involving the effects of biochar on common soil bacteria. This work has led to one manuscript currently in print and eventually at least two others.
