    • Painshill Park Trust Ltd

      Jul 2017 - Aug 2021
      Eduction Assistant

I have volunteered on multiple occasions at a local 18th Century landscape garden in the education department, helping to run and organise holiday camps for younger children. I was involved with running games for the children, making fires, cooking food, carrying equipment, teaching the children how to use tools like axes in a safe area under supervision and helping with activities like building dens. This opportunity has allowed me to meet new people and learn about some of the children, most of whom are from America or Australia. I have been told on many occasions how good I have been and I have been asked to go back to help several times. I really enjoy these opportunities because it allows me to improve my confidence and I have lots of fun. Show less

    • RHODES FOODS LIMITED

      Nov 2017 - Aug 2021
      Customer Assistant

I worked at my local fish and chip shop for nearly 3 years, before starting university. And whilst studying at university I come back during the holidays to help where I can. During my time I learnt key skills which I can apply to a future career. My job involved customer interaction, both in a restaurant and takeaway section, making batter, cutting chips, handling food and general cleaning tasks. We also had to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic meaning I took on extra shifts due to the lack of staff and took on new responsibilities such as doing deliveries. I enjoyed my job very much and it always provided a challenge, because we have to meet customers demands. Since joining in November 2017, I made new friends and influenced others to work within the company as well. I was often praised for the work I did and I constantly looked to improve. Show less

      Jun 2018 - Jul 2018
      Teaching Assistant

During my time off after completing my GCSE’s, I worked in a local primary school helping in year 4. I was encouraging the students with their work by doing 1 to 1 work with them and then having competitions to inspire them to complete their work. I also had to organise activities for the class to complete as well as marking completed work for the teacher. As it was the end of the year, I had to help organise the classroom for the new year, which involved labelling new books and making seating plans. Show less

    • NATS

      Aug 2019 - Aug 2019
      Work Placement

During my work experience week at NATS, I was introduced to how NATS worked, and learnt about various sections of the company. I took part in tours of the facilities, team work activities (which reflected how NATS is a company that relies very heavily on teamwork as it is a sector which cannot afford to go wrong) and group and individual presentations. As part of the week, I had to design a new STEM game with a small group of people (who I had never met before, meaning I had to quickly build up good communication and teamwork) that could be taken to STEM events. I researched the feasibility and options of the game and then as a group we presented to a panel our idea. I also was lucky enough to see the virtual control tower for London City airport and the ATC hub for the UK's airspace. Finally, I had the opportunity to have a go in the training simulator which was sensational. This was an amazing opportunity and I learnt lots of new skills from this experience which I will use in the future.
