  ACT Tutor and College Access Volunteer, College Tracks, Wheaton High School, Wheaton, MD (Spring 2013-present)Prepare 15 students for ACT test, by teaching strategies and basic testing skills. Helped design and organize the test preparation curriculum. Interview and provide guidance and counsel to students on the process of applying to college. Encourage first generation students to explore the option of college. Guide multiple students through the financial aide process, promoting their abilities to advocate for themselves throughout the process.   Maintaining a positive, encouraging relationship with Future Link graduates, where we collaborate on meeting their educational and career goals. Coach these students on staying focused while allowing them to create the steps to achieve these goals. Guide students when struggles occur, how to stay positive and generate a beneficial result, while offering resources available to them. Build a network of alumni that are consistently involved with Future Link offerings, such as workshops and social events. Show less
