Managed a team of 24 staff (geologists and core handling facility). Achievement of sales and operating budgets through block model project management, grade control and reconciliation. Key achievements include:• Managed safety and mitigated risk by conducting risk assessments and incident investigations. Compliant reporting with corporate policies and Queensland’s Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999. Rostered mine emergency duty officer (EDO) to manage underground emergencies and workforce safety of approximately 300 underground staff. • Project managed and developed a three day leadership program. Managed a task force of eight superintendents to define scope and content as well as facilitating several workshops. The course was rolled out to over 50 supervisors in 2016 across the North Queensland Copper business. • Participated in merger and acquisition due diligence study of a satellite operation. Assessed the value potential returns on investment promoting mutually beneficial synergies to Glencore’s main operations.• Developed a resource management plan and procedure manual. This ensured that variances were analysed and clearly articulated to management. Initiated development of a conditional simulation model to quantify grade uncertainty to facilitate communication of geological risk.• Completed underground shift bossing time. Overcoming operational challenges, developing and implementing solutions. Show less
