    • Boston Youth Farm Project

      Jan 2023 - now
      Outreach Coordinator

The Boston Youth Farm Project (BYFP) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate Boston students about nutrition, plant-science, and sustainable farming with a primary focus on student empowerment. This Project is supported by Boston Microgreens, an indoor farm in South Boston serving the local Boston community and maximizing sustainability. We create a growing environment in the classroom where students tend micro-greens from seed to harvest over the course of one month with an accompanying set of lesson plans in hopes to inspire children from areas with lower income and less opportunities. I act as the outreach coordinator for BYFP. I am in charge of communicating and reaching out to the schools that we partner with, recruiting volunteers, and advertising our project to businesses who are willing to donate money. I also act as an in school facilitator, supervising and teaching lessons about micro-greens and sustainability to the children. Boston Youth Farm Project Website: https://www.bostonyfp.org Show less

As a husky ambassador, I am required to give at least six hour long tours each semester informing students and parents everything they need to know about Northeastern. During my tours, I answer any questions or concerns students and parents may have, while also making them feel welcomed and valued on the tour. Through being a tour guide, I have improved my problem solving and public speaking skills by learning how to personalize and adopt each tour to fit the preferences and needs of the people on my tour. I am also apart of the programming committee, where I plan and organize events for the husky ambassador members. Show less Completed a two month virtual internship with Northeastern where I learned about the fundamental basics of entrepreneurship as well as skills that enable entrepreneurs and innovators to be successful, such as: asking the right questions, experimenting, applying analytical thinking, and working effectively in teams. My team was assigned the responsibility of employing ideation to formulate a business plan for an expanding startup. We leveraged the insights garnered from our thorough research to present and advocate for our proposed business plan to the startup company. Show less
