      Prof. Kanwar has been on the faculty of Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), an innovative law faculty outside New Delhi, India, since its founding in 2009; he was appointed Associate Professor in 2013. He founded the Centre on Public Law and Jurisprudence (CPLJ) in 2009 and was appointed Executive Director in 2012. The multi-disciplinary University, Law School, and Centre combine to provide a legal education in light of global policy, and develop research capacities on the need for the protection of the rule of law and its impact on governance. In addition to his individual scholarly focus on international law and social theory, Prof. Kanwar directs research on the interdisciplinary and comparative study of law; and directs the preparation of materials or reports for submission to legislatures, courts, administrative bodies, national and international agencies.       Founding Executive Director. Centre on Public Law and Jurisprudence (CPLJ), co-founded with Abhayraj Naik, on October 2, 2009, the 140th birth Anniversary of M.K. Gandhi, as a research center dedicated to the application of legal and philosophical thought to pressing social problems. CPLJ was the first faculty initiated Center at JGLS and OP JGU. Work in the first three years included the crisis of delays in the courts, corruption in public administration, legal pluralism and the recourse to extrajudicial honor killings in local communities. Numerous co-directors and researchers joined over the years adding projects in public philosophy, constitutional history, procedural code drafting, and even private law theory.
