The newly fabricated heating chamber is now used for heating copper coils that are used in the overhauling and repair work of various transformers, motors and generators at Central Workshop of Northern Coalfields Limited. Earlier the same job of heating copper coils used to be performed with the help of a welding machine and this process did not allow for a good control over the final temperature of the coils, sometimes leading to overheating of coils, thereby damaging the insulation. Now a better control over temperature is possible and hence, quality of overhauling and repair job has improved. Show less
