      Undertook 6 weeks field and lab work within Kruger National Park examining a number of habitat variables. In collaboration with SAN Parks Scientific Services and SAN Parks Veterinary Services. Fieldwork included vegetation sampling to examine grass encroachment, recruitment of acacia spp, soil core sampling and drawing blood samples from White Rhino.

      During this time it was my role to independently run two classes of approximately 60 students per week. The curriculum for the course was an introduction to the field of GIS theory and software. During this role students undertook weekly tasks that focused on data creation, data management and migration, vector and raster analysis, metadata, cartography and the designing of workflows that solved real world problems. ArcMap (Esri), ENVI and QGIS were the primary GIS software tools used throughout the course. In addition to weekly classes it was our responsibility to mark assignments and course content, provide the necessary tools and information to the students, host one on one consultations and group assignment sessions, communicate complex theory in digestible language and develop engaging lessons that kept students focused and attending class each week.
