  I worked for Garbelman Winslow CPAs in three successive roles, beginning as a staff accountant and then becoming a senior accountant and, ultimately, an accounting/audit manager. During my tenure, I helped perform, direct and and oversee a wide range of accounting, auditing, tax and consulting functions for this 20 employee regional CPA firm. Performed, as well as supervised staff accountants on, a large quantity of compilation and review engagements for clients of various sizes. - Worked directly with clients to consult and advise them on proper financial presentation as well as accounting system, operating procedures and tax issues. Experience with these engagements included bookkeeping/journal entry help, financial statement preparation, internal control assessment and advice, company takeover/expansion, and merger/consolidation issues. - Reported results directly to the Engagement Partner and was responsible for compiling and presenting monthly and year-end financial and budget information at client meetings. These engagements typically included corporate and individual tax preparation as well. - Responsible for updating firm-wide changes in financial statement preparation and presentation in order to comply with GAAP standards as well as training staff on implementing these changes. This required constant attention to new standards as well as researching FASB’s Accounting Standards Codification for further understanding and application of these standards.- Preparation of Corporate, S Corp., LLC, Partnership, Individual, Exempt, Fiduciary and Benefit Plan tax returns.
