      I worked at both the VA and UNMC mostly maintaining the two separate mouse colonies and conducting the mouse experiments associated with each, but I also took on a lab manager role in that I monitored supply, entered orders, and balanced the grant budget.The mouse experiments at UNMC mostly involved the humanization of TK-NOG or uPA mice via intrasplenic injection and once humanized, infecting with HCV. The mouse work at the VAMC involved ethanol feeding of C57BL/6 mice and mutant strains containing HCV and/or GFP genes. Additional skills and experience came from various tests measuring levels of metabolic stress in different mouse tissues. Show less
