PSIA | Professional Training | Electrical Engineer

Selected among the 20 scholars from the whole of Pakistan to attend the 'US-Pakistan Power Sector Improvement Activity (PSIA) Empower All Energy Program (EAEP)', supported by USAID, and the Energy and Security Group (ESG).Embarked on a transformative journey of personal, Professional development, gaining in-depth insights into the challenges faced by the Power sector of Pakistan under the mentorship of Dr Fiaz (Legend and a Think Tank of the Power Sector) who is heading the Energy Institute at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). The program emphasized both renewable and non-renewable energy sources, as well as the relationship between a country's economy, its energy sector with focus on driving sustainability within the energy industry. A sincere gratitude to Mam Ambreen Zaman, Jawad Shahzad, Mariam Saigol, and Kashan Saeed for their remarkable efforts in organizing this program.Dived on a journey of familiarization held in Islamabad & Lahore. Throughout the training, visited 17 multinational power generation companies, including private and government power purchasing and distribution agencies, including, Hagler Bailly Pakistan (HBP), Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), EZ bike, Renewable Resources Pvt.Ltd (RE 2), National Power Control Centre (NPCC), Private Power & Infrastructure Board (PPIB), Bridge Factor, SAZGAR ENGINEERING WORKS (EV's), Pakistan Information Technology Company (PITC), Fatima Energy, Pak Elektron Limited (PEL), DSG Energy, Sapphire Wind, and MicroTech Industries(pvt) Ltd. During these visits, we actively participated in conferences and site tours, which significantly enriched our understanding of the energy infrastructure and the unique challenges faced in Pakistan. During these sessions it was an honor to meet and exchange words with the pioneer of the idea (AMI) meter Technology, Sir Muhammad Shafiq ur Rahman (Director of Transmission & Distribution Operations at ESG).
