  • Experience

    • The University of Glasgow

      Jun 2014 - Aug 2014
      Research trainee

Research project in the Biomedical Engineering Research Division on nebulization devices based on Surface Acoustic Waves technology. The work was focused on the characterization of acoustic vibrations of piezoelectric substrates using a Laser Doppler Vibrometer.

    • Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

      Jun 2015 - Dec 2015
      Research trainee

The research project focused on integrating Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detectors (SNSPDs) on silicon microlens arrays for single-photon infrared telecommunication in the atmosphere. The work included microfabrication of gold electrodes on the backside of the microlens array by lift-off, using optical lithography with positive, image reversal and bi-layer photoresists, double side mask-alignment, and metal evaporation.

    • KTH Royal Institute of Technology

      Apr 2016 - now

My research is focused on the development of novel MEMS manufacturing technologies using additive manufacturing, ultrafast lasers, and magnetic assembly of microchips. Together with my colleagues, we used two-photon polymerization to develop a micro 3D printing technique to fabricate inertial MEMS sensors. Two-photon polymerization was also used to 3D print microstructures of polyimide, a high-performing polymeric material, with sub-µm resolution. Additionally, we developed a scalable assembly process to integrate tiny and fragile silicon microchips onto micromachined receiving substrates using magnetic forces. Show less
