  Undergraduate Student Researcher in the Cardiovascular Fluid Mechanics Lab

  In my first semester, I worked on a fetal heart valve project, where two types of fetal heart valves were being designed and developed to address congenital heart defects: 1) a fetal heart valve for temporary implantation until the Ross procedure can be performed, and 2) a resorbable fetal heart valve that promotes natural valve tissue formation and reduces the need for future surgical intervention.

  As a R&D engineering co-op, I collaborated on design controls by attending and documenting several voice of customer labs with surgeons, and by running an attribute analysis study to better understand the variation of the measurement system being developed. In addition, I supported OUS regulatory filings by performing suture Instron cyclic testing and collaborating on cyclic Test Method creation. I also assisted with post-US launch activities through performing and analyzing testing data, completing technical reports, and creating a test fixture. Show less
